Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 255, reports as follows:
Bill No. 255, transmitted by Chief Engineer Robert T. Yanabu, via Communication No. 773,
dated April 6, 2000, amends Chapter 21, Article 4 of the Hawaii County Code, by adding a new
section relating to remission of sewer service charges for non-residential customers.
Bill No. 255 proposes to clarify the terms and conditions under which adjustments to water
consumption may be applied to non-residential sewer user accounts, pursuant to Section 21-29 of
the Hawaii County Code.
The intent of this measure is primarily a housekeeping process related to the irrigation
exemptions.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 255 and
recommends it pass first reading.
