On September 18, 2010 the Hawaii County Council postponed Bill No. 269, Draft 2 to the call
of the chair to allow the Department of Public Works to hold two public meetings.
On February 28, 2011 Warren Lee, Director of the Department of Public Works, submitted a
request to have Bill No. 269, Draft 2 referred back to the Committee on Public Works and Parks
& Recreation.
I am placing Bill No. 269, Draft 2 on the March 16, 2011 Hawaii County Council Agenda to
consider Director Lee's request to have Bill No. 269, Draft 2 recommitted to the Council's
Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation. I have attached Director Lee's letter for
your review.

SUBJECT: PROPOSED CODE REVISIONS TO BILLS 268 -270 DRAFT 2

We request the Council return the proposed code revisions for the building, electrical and
plumbing codes to the Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation. Department of
Public Works believes this will give the community additional time to ask questions and voice
their concerns.
