L LEGISLATIVE MATTERS • 1 have been asked by senator Josh Green, ar,d Representative Bob Herkes to inform the Special Meeting of the Hawaii County Council, that they will be submitting Resolutions in their respective legislative bodies, to secure funding in order that Hawaii County begin mitigation and recovery. 0 Note: we are passed the time to introduce new legislation; but, Rep. Herkes is strongly requesting consideration of Speaker Say; and Senator Green is, likewise, requesting consideration of President Tsutsui. • In evert the Resolutions are not accepted, both Sen, Green, and Rep. Herkes, will prepare joint letters of action; + Governmental Relations Committee is in communication, interface, and action to promote our Council and County interests. E. SUDGET • The elimination of the approximately 76% West Hawai'i Tax Base is an unprecedented and critical issue. Futher discussion is vital.
