SUBJECT: PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO BILL NO. 19:
KINOOLE STREET -NEW FREIGHT LOADING ZONE

We request that Bill No. 19, relating to a new freight loading zone along Kino'ole Street,
be amended to read as follows (material to be deleted is bracketed and stricken
through, material to be added is underscored):
() Kino'ole Street, northeast side, beginning from a point two hundred thirty -five feet
southeast of Haili Street and extending [six thFee forty -six feet in the
southeasterly direction from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The above amendment is illustrated via Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of
Bill No. 19, which proposes to add a new paragpraph to the Hawai'i County Code. A
draft copy of Bill No. 19, Draft 2, with this amendment incorporated, is attached.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983
(2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 24, article 10, division 6, section 24 -288, schedule 36 (freight
loading zones), subsection (c) South Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as
amended), is amended by adding the following, to be appropriately numbered and to read as
follows:
Kino`ole Street, northeast side, beginning from a point two
hundred thirty-five feet southeast of Haili Street and extending
forty -six feet in the southeasterly direction from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00
p.m., Monday through hrou hg Friday.
SECTION 2. Material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New material is
underscored. In printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed material and stricken material
and underscoring need not be included.
SECTION 3. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof to any person
or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications
of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to
this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
