Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 273-00, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 273-00, transmitted by Council Member Aaron S.Y. Chung, via
Communication No. 829, dated June 21, 2000, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal
year and of more than one fiscal year for amulti-year lease for a copy machine.
The Office of the County Clerk-Reprographics Division wishes to enter into afive-year lease
contract for a copy machine. Funds would be budgeted in future fisca] years to cover the
anticipated cost at $4,579.40.
Pursuant to Section 10-11, Hawaii County Charter, any contract, ]ease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year must be approved by
resolution.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 273-00
and recommends its adoption.
