RESOLUTION GRANTING A VARIANCE FROM CHAPTER 3, SECTION 3 -58 (a)
(5)(B) AND 3- 58(c), HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS
AMENDED) TO ALLOW ONE WALL SIGN ON 75 -1000 HENRY STREET
BUILDING FRONTING THE QUEEN KA`AHAMANU HIGHWAY, TMK NUMBER
(3) 7 -5- 004:058 (ZONED CG -20)
From Public Works Director Warren Lee, dated January 26, 2011, transmitting the above
resolution. Coldwell Banker Maryl Realty is requesting to be allowed to install a 42.65
square feet sign with an eleven inch symbol, which is larger than the current 22 square feet
maximum sign containing letters and /or symbols no larger than nine inches.
Forwards to Council with a negative recommendation:
Ayes: Committee Members Hoffmann, Smart, Yagong,
and Chair Blas.
Noes: Committee Members Ford and Pilago.
Absent: Committee Members Ikeda, Onishi, and Yoshimoto.
(Note: Ms. Smart voted "kanalua" twice.)

Notice is hereby given that pursuant to Hawai`i Revised Statutes (hereinafter "HRS ") §92 -3.5, the Hawai`i
County Council will be conducting this Committee meeting via videoconference. Councilmembers will be
present at the following locations:
• Kona Council Chambers, West Hawaii Civic Center, 74 -5044 Ane Keohokalole Highway, Building A;
• Hilo Council Chambers, Hawaii County Building, 25 Aupuni Street, First Floor, Suite 1401.
Public Attendance Via Videoconferencing is available at the locations above and at the Waimea Council
Office at the Holomua Center, 64 -1067 Mamalahoa Highway, Suite 5 until 4:30 p.m., or later in the event
public witness testimony has not been completed. If audio stream between Kona and Hilo is lost for more
than a short period of time, the meeting will be terminated.
Submitting Testimony: Those submitting written testimony at the meeting should bring fourteen (14)
copies for distribution. Public testimony may also be submitted before 12:00 noon on the business day
prior to the meeting (1) by mail to the County Clerk's Office in Hilo at 25 Aupuni St., Hilo, Hawai`i,
