Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 276-00, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 276-00, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication
No. 833, dated June 26, 2000, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from Ted and
Laurel Young. A letter of appreciation will be sent to Ted and Laurel Young, P.O. Box 372,
Hakalau, Hawaii 96710, acknowledging this generous donation.
Ted and Laurel Young have graciously donated a year old Red-Masked Conure for educational
and display purposes to the Department of Parks & Recreation for the Pana`ewa Rainforest Zoo.
The value of this donation is estimated at $240.00.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13- l2, Hawai`i County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 276-00
and recommends its adoption.
