Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication 118, reports as follows:
Communication 118, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, requests the Council's
acceptance of a donation of a Double Yellow Headed Amazon Parrot, with a total estimated
value of $1,000, to the Pana`ewa Rainforest Zoo and Gardens.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to the donor, Mr. Eric Johnson.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Pursuant to Section 2 -162, Hawai`i County Code, a gifts or donations of money, securities or
personal property which do not fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of
Finance (donations above $1,000 of estimated value) shall be submitted to the Council by letter
for its approval.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication 118,
recommends approval of the donation of one Double Yellow Headed Amazon Parrot to the
Pana`ewa Rainforest Zoo and Gardens.
