Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 277-00, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 277-OQ, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication
No. 834, dated June 26, 2000, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from Robert K. Washburn.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Robert K. Washburn, P.O. Box 1898, Kailua-Kona,
Hawaii 96745, acknowledging this generous donation.
Robert K. Washburn has graciously donated a 2-1 /2 year old male Catalina Macaw for
educational and display purposes to the Department of Parks & Recreation for the Pana`ewa
Rainforest Zoo. The value of this donation is estimated at $1,500.00.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 277-00
and recommends its adoption.

The following is the action of the Hawaii County Council adopted at its
meeting held July 26. 2000:
Res. 277-00 was adopted and FC Report No. 288 was approved
and adopted.
