Re: Bill No. 311, General Obligation Bonds
On November 30, 2010, the Hawaii County Council held a special meeting for
reconsideration of Bill No. 311. Council Member Donald Ikeda, who transmitted
Communication No. 972.5, made a motion for reconsideration of Bill No. 311, and was
seconded by Council Member Dennis "Fresh" Onishi. At the special meeting I made a
motion to "move for a public hearing on Council Member Donald Ikeda's request for
reconsideration so that the public has an opportunity to weigh in on whether they support
the reconsideration motion. The date and time of the public hearing will be at the call of the
newly elected chairman of the county council that is selected on December 6, 2010, I so
move," and it was seconded by Council Member Pete Hoffmann. The motion was duly
approved with Council Members Ford, Hoffmann, Naeole, Yoshimoto and I voting for a
public hearing.
I am scheduling a public hearing of the Hawaii County Council for April 5, 2011 at
6:00 p.m. in the Hto Council Chambers so that the public has an opportunity to weigh
in on whether they support the reconsideration motion.
