RESOLUTION NO. 53 11
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF EXERCISE EQUIPMENT
TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION FOR USE AT THE PA'AUILO GYM
WHEREAS, Mr. Ed Allen is donating Hammer Strength brand exercise equipment to the Department of
Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, this equipment, valued at $1,250. will be used at the Pa'auilo gym; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal property or of real
estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2 -162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code
states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization
procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this donation.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in accordance with Article
XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawai'i County Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2- 162(a) of the Hawaii
County Code, the Council of the County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to Mr.
Ed Allen, 77 -6462 Marlin Road, Kailua Kona, Hawaii 96740, acknowledging this generous donation.
