Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 259-00, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 259-00, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication
No. 782, dated May 10, 2000, authorizes the County to accept a donation of land from
Henry B. Clark, Jr. A letter of appreciation will be sent to Henry B. Clark, Jr., 3003 Kalakaua
Avenue, Suite 12A, Honolulu, Hawaii 96815, acknowledging this generous donation.
Henry B. Clazk, Jr. has graciously donated approximately eight acres of real property bearing
Tax Map Key (3) 6-2-007-001 to be used as a part of the Waimea Trails & Greenways Project.
The value of this donation is estimated at $182,300.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of real property.
Originally heazd on June 1, 2000, this measure was deferred pending a copy of the conveyance
document and the deed from the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Office of the
Corporation Counsel.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 259-00
and recommends its adoption.
