Subject: Please vote against Mark Travalino's appointment to the Planning Commission!
Dear Councilmembers,
I urge you to vote against Mark Travalino's appointment to the Hawaii County Leeward Planning Commission.
He has spoken strongly in favor of development of conservation land at 'O'oma; this would set a bad planning
precedent for our community. Kona deserves a representative on the all- important, decision - making
commission who understands the significance of protecting the land and culture of our island, especially when
it comes to fragile conservation lands. Will you please choose a person who better understands the concepts
of Smart Growth and who honors the Kona Community Development Plan as a guide to future land use
planning?
