Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 279, reports as follows:
Bill No. 279, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication No. 837,
dated June 29, 2000, amends Ordinance No. 00-63, as amended, the Operating Budget, ending
June 30, 2001. The amendment is as follows:

3607.00 Contribution from Private Source General $6,227.24
To:
010-221-5221.31 Fire Protection -Rescue Equipment General $6,227.24
The Hawaii County Fire Department received a grant to purchase needed rescue equipment
from the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Fund. This fund was established in 1998 to honor members
of the County Fire/Rescue units.
A second drafr of Bill No. 279 was referred to Your Committee, which amended the funding
source from Contribution from Private Source to Fund Balance Reserved for Grants.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 279, Draft 2,
and recommends it pass first reading.
