I believe that the threat of plastic bags is becoming even more troublesome than ever
before. It is filling landfills and the ocean causing the death of many endangered or threatened
species. Even the loss of a single species can change our ecosystem. The plastic bag pollution
will mainly kill birds and sea life such as turtles. The loss of those species can lead to the
overpopulation of their prey, which can lead to overfishing of those species. If overfishing breaks
loose the population of many fish will rapidly diminish. If all of the fish die then they could not
eat everything that grows on rocks such as algae. If they are overgrown then the sea could
become polluted and there would be nothing to clean it. That is how the overuse of plastic bags
will lead to the overgrowth of algae.
