(Plastic bag reduction bill)

Introduction
Did you know one million animals die each year because of plastic bags? Also plastic bags are
the 2 nd most common killer after cigars. Only 6% of the world recycles plastic bags. We need to take a
stand and say this is enough, we have to put a price on these bags so no one buys one. Ant then we can
feel like we have accomplished something in this whole mess.
Animal Death
Animals die each year because of theses bags. Only this year a flamingo died because it was
strangled by the holding rings. Also a whale has also died this year because it consumed over 43
different plastic bags. Another poor animal that died this year was a aged Crocodile. It consumed over
27 bags.
Animal Injuries
Most animals survive but they have these mental and physical scares. A Platypus was head first
into the bags he struggled for a while then he finally got out, but the platypus has many scars on his
body. Another animal is a seal pup because this seal pup was almost to the point where it was going to

die because he was losing oxygen. But luckily the mom got the plastic bag off of the seals neck. This ox
was found lying paralyzed because it was in shock because it just survived the most extreme thing. It
was caught in the plastic bag but it found a way to cut it off with his teeth.
Solutions for the problem
Their are ways we can help these helpless creature. One way is to use a reusable bag
when you go to the store because that will reduce the amount of plastic bags bought. Also you could
reduce the amount of these bags by recycling them so they don't end up in the poor creatures stomach or
it does not strangle then to death. Or you could reuse them again and again, to prevent a plastic bag land
fill witch flies into the water witch kills the animals.
Conclusion
Plastic bags can be useful like picking up dog poop or lining trash cans. But it is not a problem if
you know where it goes because these bags might fly into the ocean and kill all of our marine and land
animals. We should put a price on plastic bags because it will lower the animals in our region. But it is
also good because people who need the plastic bags can pay for it. We should not ban but make the price
higher for plastic bags. Don't be a fool and help save our Earth!
