Unlike so many problems facing us now, this one does not need to continue. Although super markets may have offered opposition, they will find that the consumer quickly adapts to using recyclable bags or -- in many cases -- none at all. I have spent some months in France and see that they have no trouble shopping without plastic carrier bags. I myself sometimes forget the recyclable bags in the back seat of my car as I go into the market here. You can bet I will not forget if I do not receive a bag at the check -out. Maui and Kauai have led the way. Please support this bill so we can join that team. Thank you for the oppostunity to testify. Susan Dursin Comm. No. Ref. To: M C: . 1/31/2011 Ref. Date FEB 1 2011
