We all can and should be using reusable cloth bags, like they do in most of the world. It's simple laziness that we demand to use (and for the most part, promptly discard) hundreds of thousands of both plastic and paper bags each year on Hawai'i Island. We can do better than this. Also, let's retrofit all street lights to energy-saving LED's soon. After the initial costs are recouped, it's all money in the bank, And lastly, no more free fuel for any government employee, period. This is nuts. Thanks for your ear.
