Subject: support bill 17- ban the bag!
Honorable Council members,
I have heard both arguments for and against this ban and I am convinced that leaders are chosen to
enact for the greatest good. Plastic bags do not degrade but instead turn into smaller and smaller pieces
that are being found in our fish, turtles and sea birds, the toxins now found in human breast milk. This
harm for a mere 10 minutes of convenience is wasteful and destructive. Set an example of good
stewardship for our children. They must see our leaders taking the side of their future and not business
as usual.
Ban the bag!
