RESOLUTION NO. 62 11
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF $75
TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION TO SUPPORT THE PANA`EWA
RAINFOREST ZOO & GARDENS
WHEREAS, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Kea`au Aerie 3642 is donating $75 to the
Department of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used to support the Pana`ewa Rainforest Zoo &
Gardens to help provide funding for upkeep and maintenance; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the
Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30,
Section 2 -162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts or donations of money,
securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the
Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Department of Finance has requested that cash
donations of any amount be recorded and accepted through the formal Resolution process;
and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of
this donation.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter 2,
Article 30, Section 2- 162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution
be sent to Mr. Richard J. Robbins, Trustee, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie # 3642, 16 -111
Opukahaia Street, Kea'au, Hawaii 96749, acknowledging this generous donation.
