Re: Amendment to the Hawaii County Code
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending Chapter 2, Article 16, related to mileage
and meal reimbursements for volunteer police personnel. Section 2 -101.1 provides a
meal allowance for non - overnight travel for these County employees, under certain
conditions by referencing Section 2 -96, which is being repealed. It is desired however,
to continue this allowance for volunteer police personnel, including but not limited to
reserve police officers and police chaplains. The enclosed bill proposes to delete this
reference to section 2 -96 of the County Code and specify the parameters of meal
allowance for these volunteer police personnel within section 2- 101.1. It would take
effect on July 1, 2011.
