Re: Presentation by Peoples Advocacy for Trails Hawaii (PATH).
For your review and consideration is the attached communication from Laura
Dierenfield, Executive Director requesting 30 minutes to provide information and update
on Act 54, Hawaii Complete Streets Law to the Governmental Relations Committee's
next meeting on May 3, 2011. Additionally, I wish to allow 30 minutes for question and
answer time.

Councilman Pilago would be happy for you to present in his committee. He asks that you put together a
30 minute presentation, then allow another 30 minutes for a question & answer with the Committee. We
can get you on the Tuesday, May 3rd Committee Meeting in West- Hawaii, otherwise the next Hilo
Committee meeting would be May 17 If you can respond by Thursday, April 14 in order for us to meet
the deadline for the May 3rd Agenda, we will submit your request.

Hi Jan,
Thanks so much for your email. I hope you are doing great. The new Civic Center is so beautiful! I'm
sorry it's taken me so long to respond, but I have been so swamped. I haven't had the meeting with Art
and its evolved now into a meeting with the Principals of his complex, which would be a good time to
offer up the resolution. Once that has been scheduled, I'll let you know.
As far as Complete Streets, would it be possible to consider inviting PATH to the next meeting of the
Committee on Governmental Relations to present the details of Act 54 that passed in 2009, the Hawaii
Complete Streets Law and provide some background on Complete Streets as well as an update on what
other counties are doing to implement the policy?
