Re: Resolution for multi -year lease
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the Hawaii Fire Department to enter into a multi -year
lease for two (2) years, for premises located in Na'alehu, Hawaii. The Fire Department
indicates that this site is needed in order to comply with the State of Hawai'i's contract to
provide EMS services, and that the rent is reimbursable by the State of Hawaii as part of
this contract.

A. REQUEST:
Please prepare a resolution authorizing the payment of funds - in a later fiscal year and for more than one
fiscal year - for a two year lease extension for the Naalehu EMS Station for the Fire Department.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
To comply with the State of Hawai'i contract to provide EMS services an extension of the Naalehu EMS
Station lease is necessary. This is for premises located at 95 -1163 Ka'alaiki Road, Naalehu. The term is for
two years commencing May 1, 2011, with an option to renew the lease for an additional two years. The
lease rent is $1402.73 per month. This is reimbursable by the State of Hawai'i as part of the EMS contract.
