RESOLUTION NO. ' ?O 11
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF $50
TO THE OFFICE OF AGING TO SUPPORT THE HAWAII COUNTY OFFICE OF AGING'S
SILVER BULLETIN NEWSLETTER
WHEREAS, Mr. Herbert and Mary Matayoshi, are donating $50 to the Office of Aging;
and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used to support the Hawaii County Office of Aging's
Silver Bulletin newsletter; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the
Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30,
Section 2 -162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts or donations of money,
securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the
Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Department of Finance has requested that cash
donations of any amount be recorded and accepted through the formal Resolution process;
and
WHEREAS, the Office of Aging recommends the acceptance of this donation; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter 2,
Article 30, Section 2- 162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution
be sent to Mr. Herbert and Mary Matayoshi, 760 Onaha Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96816,
acknowledging this generous donation.
