Re: Resolution Accepting Donation
Enclosed is a resolution accepting a donation of a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), valued at
$22,900.74 from the United States Marshals Service, Arlington, Virginia 22202. This
donation is being made pursuant to an existing memorandum of understanding between
the Hawaii County Police Department and the United States Marshals Service. The
Police Department indicates that this vehicle will be utilized when assisting with joint law
enforcement operations with the United States Marshals Service.

A. REQUEST:
To request Council approval to accept a SUV vehicle from the U.S. Marshall's Office to utilize when assisting
with joint law enforcement operations. The vehicle is valued at $22,900.74.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The U.S. Marshalls Office is donating an SUV vehicle for the Department to utilize when assisting with Joint
Law Enforcement Task Force Operations. This is a task force whose primary mission is to investigate and
apprehend local, state and federal fugitives, thereby improving public safety and reducing violent crimes.
