Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 289, reports as follows:
Bill No. 289, transmitted by Acting Director of Finance Dixie Kaetsu, via Communication
No. 860, dated July 11, 2000, amends Ordinance No. 00-64, as amended, the Capital Budget
ending June 30, 2001, by adding the following project:
PUBLIC WORKS:
Public Safety Building Complex 110-299-5292.25-115 $243,000
Cellblock Detention Facility
Funds for this project shall be provided from:
General Obligation Bonds, Capital Projects Fund- $243,000
Fund Balance and/or Other Sources
Funds will be used to provide adequate supervision for the Public Safety Building Complex
Cellblock Detention Facility during construction.
Although Your Committee fully supported this effort, members were concerned with the
high expense.
Your Committee on Finance forwards Bill No. 289 to Council with a negative recommendation.
