Dear Chairman Yagong and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to inform you that I have nominated the following individual to the Kona CDP
Action Committee:
Matthew A. Binder (4 -year term) is a 10 -year resident of South Kona and is a co -owner of
Visionary Video, a video production company of news and educational programs. He also
works as a substitute and music teacher in the Public School System on the Big Island. He is
an active member of SKEA and the Kona Outdoor Circle. Matthew has made many contacts
with a wide variety of people and organizations thru his active community activities and video
production business. These contacts and experiences will bring a unique and needed aspect to
our Action Committee.
I would appreciate your attention on this matter and request that this item be waived from
committee and placed on the Council agenda for discussion and confirmation of this individual.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at your convenience. Your
review and favorable recommendation Would be appreciated.

Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawai`i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above - referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Planning to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and the
matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request is
denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Planning for placement on its future agenda.
