Re: Amendment to the Hawai'i County Code
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending two sections of Chapter 12, Article 3,
related to Improvement District assessments. The purpose of this bill is to improve
efficiency and reduce costs by allowing additional options in tax assessment frequency
contained in Section 12 -34 and by amending the default criteria contained in Section
12 -40, which would allow for consolidation of delinquencies for foreclosure proceedings
when it is in the best interest of the County. An additional housekeeping amendment in
Section 12 -40 is included to delete the reference to an obsolete section number.
