Subject: Proposed Amendment to Bill 29, Draft 3
Below for your consideration is a proposed amendment to add a new section to
Bill 29, Draft 3, regarding the operating budget. The proposed amendment is illustrated
below in Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Bill 29, Draft 3 and is bolded
for emphasis.
1. A new section 8 will be added to read as follows:
2. "SECTION 8. The Director of Finance is hereby authorized and directed
to apply all savings realized in the 2011 -2012 fiscal year from the 2011-
2013 negotiated contracts with the State of Hawai`i Organization of
Police Officers, Hawaii Fire Fighters Association and United Public
Works unions to Post - employment Benefits, GASB 45 Provisions
account number 010.901.5902.09. The Director of Finance shall
transmit to the Council any amendments to this ordinance that may be
necessary for the administration to comply with this section.
3. Sections 8, 9, and 10 will be renumbered to be sections 9, 10, and 11.
In an effort to conserve resources, no draft copy of Bill 29, Draft 3, is provided.
