Dear Chairman Yagong and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Mr. Wayne Joseph to the County of Hawaii Board of Appeals.
Mr. Joseph is a 63 -year resident of Hawaii. He presently is employed as a sports writer at
Stephens Media Group and is executive director of the Big Island Marathon.
Mr. Joseph has been a past member of the County of Hawaii's Cost of Government
Commission and Board of Ethics. He states that he is not affiliated with any political party. If
confirmed, he will fill a term to expire on December 31, 2011, replacing Kelly Ann Soo, who
resigned. Since Mr. Joseph will be serving a remaining term that is less than two years, he will
be eligible to succeed himself for an additional full term of five years, beginning on the expiration
date of his current term and expiring on December 31, 2016.
