RESOLUTION NO. 84 11
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF TWO (2) WORKS
OF ART FROM BLAISE DOMINO, ARTIST, FOR DISPLAY IN HILO AND KONA
WHEREAS Blaise Domino, Historic Cartographic Artist, is donating two (2) giclees measuring
36" x 54 ", exclusive of framing, of his historical map "Island of Hawaii "; and
WHEREAS, these works of art, valued at $3,000 each shall be utilized for display in the Mayor's office
reception areas in Hilo and in Kona; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal property or of real
estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2 -162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code
states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization
procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Management recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in accordance with Article
XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2- 162(a) of the Hawaii
County Code, the Council of the County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to Mr.
Blaise Domino, Picture Map Company, P.O. Box 88468, Honolulu, HI 96830 -8468, acknowledging this
generous donation.
