Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 311-00, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 311-00, transmitted by Director of Finance Dixie Kaetsu, via Communication
No. 886, dated August 9, 2000, authorizes the County to accept a monetary donation from the
Hawaii Police Athletic Federation of Honolulu. A letter of appreciation will be sent to the
Hawaii Police Athletic Federation of Honolulu, P.O. Box 22623, Honolulu, Hawaii 96823,
acknowledging this generous donation.
The Hawaii Police Athletic Federation of Honolulu has graciously donated $500 to be used for
any project for which budgetary funding is unavailable from the Hawaii Police Athletic
Federation.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
Your Committee, during its discussion of Resolution No. 311-00, made the following
amendments:
1. Changing the resolved clause to read "...that, in accordance with
Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, [the
Hawaii Police Department is authorized to] it accepts the donation
of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), from Hawaii Police Athletic
Federation of Honolulu, Hawaii for the Hawaii Police
Deaartment.
2. Adding a resolved clause to read "BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED
that a letter of appreciation be sent to Hawaii Police Athletic
Federation of P.O. Box 22623, Honolulu Hawaii 96823,
acknowledging this generous donation."

Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 311-00,
as amended to Draft 2, and recommends its adoption.
