Your Committee on Finance, to which was referzed Resolution No. 313-00, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 313-00, transmitted by Director of Finance Dixie Kaetsu, via Communication
No. 890, dated August 14, 2000, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the Japanese
Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Hawaii.
The Japanese Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Hawaii has graciously donated carpet to be
used by the Department of Parks and Recreation for the stage and risers at the Edith Kanakaole
Multi-Purpose Stadium. The value of this donation is estimated at $1,696.00.
Pursuant to Article XIIl, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalfofthe
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Mr. Clyde T. Nekoba, Japanese Chamber of Commerce &
Industry of Hawaii, 400 Hualani Street, Suite 20B, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this
generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 313-00
and recommends its adoption.
