SUBJECT: Rescission of Motion for Public Hearings for Bill No. 17, Draft 2, Plastic Bag
Reduction.
During the March 2, 2011, Hawai`i County Council meeting, Bill No. 17, Draft 2, was postponed
for public hearings to take place over a six month time period beginning in June of this year.
I request that Bill No. 17, Draft 2, be placed on the agenda under "Other Business" for the
Hawai`i County Council meeting scheduled for July 7, 2011.
I anticipate making a motion to rescind the motion for public hearing that was approved on
March 2, 2011 as I believe the motion was dilatory. Should my motion to rescind be approved
Bill No. 17, Draft 2, would become live on the floor at second reading and therefore needs to be
properly noticed on the agenda.
