Hawaii County Council Members:
I come before you today to ask you to support Hawaii County Resolution 5911 that seeks
our Governor's dedication of land adjacent to the West Hawaii Veterans' Cemetery.
Please imagine the current bare 60 acres developed into a center surrounded by native
plants of Hawaii and buildings and grounds that provide a multipurpose and
intergenerational center for veterans. This will be a fitting tribute to all veterans and our
way of saying "Thank you" for the freedom we enjoy.
I have volunteered to serve on the Board of Directors of the West Hawaii Veteran's
Council to initiate the process of obtaining IRS non profit status to oversee the Veteran's
Center. However, we need your support to realize this vision.
