Subject: The budget and our family
Aloha Mayor Kenoi and Council Members,
Regarding the Budget Financing
We do not think we personally are paying too much property tax. We bought our house in 1999,
became residents in Oct 2002. Senior exemption in 2003. Our property continues to slide in value but
not to 1999 values! We believe in paying taxes, efficient government and being fair to county
employees.
Record of property taxes on our modest house:
1999 — $1398
2002 - $1597
Resident
2003 - $536
2004 - $660
Senior
2005 - $466
2006 - $493
2007 - $522
2008 - $551
2009 - $580
2010 - $501
