COUNCIL MEMBER BRITTANY SMARTs resolution to delay general plan amendments and rezoning applications in
Ka' u shows foresight. District 9's sensitive agricultural and conservation zones should NOT be haphazardly
altered to accommodate developers to the detriment of the ecosystem. Personally, I have some reservations
about the initial Ka'u CDP organization and would like to see final plans. Ideally, I would like to see conservation
and ag zoning remain so in perpetuity. Future generations deserve as much. Mahalo for being the voice of the
people and for being proponents of the environment.
