Subject: Testimony re Kau CDP
Aloha, we understand a discussion of Btittany Smart's proposal to freeze all zoning changes until the
Kau CDP is finished is to be heard this coming Tuesday, 18th April.
We urge the Council NOT to approve this measure. The CDP is way behind schedule and may be 4or 5
years before approval....Ms. Smarts date of 2012 is generous, at best. To not allow ANY further
development or zoning changes until that time is foolish and will destroy any possible financial benefit
from new businesses, including agricultural and power related issues, we might achieve in the next few
years.
Kau needs jobs and the only way to produce them is through new ventures crippling all possible
development, while we wait for the CDP to be completed and incorporated for up to 7 years is absurd
and would be devasting to our local economy.
AGAIN, we urge the council NOT to approve this measure.
