HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOM 0154.024 2010-2012 Aloha Ladies and Gentlemen of the Council and mahalo for the opportunity
to address you all on behalf of the Hawaiian Paradise Park, Park Development
Committee.
As members of the Park Development committee, we have worked for the
past 5 years, as a liaison between the HPPOA board, the HPP community and the
County of Hawaii in trying to develop recreational facilities in our subdivision on a
20 acre parcel set aside for that very purpose. HPP represents one of the largest
subdivisions in the county and as senior citizens, and also parents and grandparents
we can appreciate the great need for recreational facilities and structured activities in
our under served subdivision, for our growing families, our seniors and the greater
Puna District.
After all these years, and with this present county administration we have
come so close to finally realizing this, and are confident the county will design and
maintain such a concept through Bond Bill 311. Because we can see this as a
partnership, be assured many talented citizens of HPP will step forward, as "Friends
of the Park" and contribute in time and funding for special projects in the park
development.
We appreciate the inclusion of our community in the funding and planning for
park services in Bond Bill 311, and urge the County Council to approve this
measure.
