Hawaii County Council Members:
My name is Tomoe Nimori, Member of the West Hawaii Veteran's Cemetery
Development and Expansion Association. The 60 acres of land that we are asking our
Governor to dedicate for a West Hawaii Veteran's Center is adjacent to the cemetery.
The cemetery association is assuming the responsibility of initiating the process of
obtaining IRS non profit status to oversee the Veterans' Center.
As of this date, the West Hawaii Veteran's Cemetery group has established a West
Hawaii Veteran's Council with a Board of Directors who in turn have written the
Articles of Incorporation and By -Laws. Currently, the Board of Directors is completing
IRS Form 1023 to obtain non profit status.
Your support to obtain the Governor's approval will ensure that West Hawaii will have a
centrally located multifunctional and intergenerational center to serve our community.
