Dear Chief Kubojiri:
I am happy to inform you that we received a grant from the Atherton Foundation and will be donating a
scent tracking dog for the Hawaii Police Department. Public Safety Dogs in North Carolina who had
given the bloodhound, Tucker, a few years ago to your department, has chosen a black labrador named
Magnum who already has a "find" which occurred during the training period. The dog is valued at $4500.
We are in the process of finalizing the flight arrangements for the dog. Once we get the final approval to
have the dogs shipped over, we will notify your police department. Please feel free to contact Charlene
Takeno at the Missing Child Center- Hawaii at 808 -586 -1449, should you have any questions.
Very truly yours,
