Subject: plastic bag ban
I see in this morning's WHT that there will be hearings on a plastic bag ban. As I am unable to attend the
hearings in person, I would like to give my testimony via email.
Hopefully this will assist those Council members that insisted on having public hearings.
I am in favor of the ban. We really need to start being good stewards of our home, or it will be trashed worse than
it is for our descendants. There will be people opposed to the ban for various reasons. They are the ones who
"desire" a cleaner environment, who "desire" to be less dependent on oil. Well, desiring something implies a
degree of sacrifice. If you desire a larger television, you sacrifice a part of your hard - earned money. If you desire
a cleaner enrvironment, you sacrifice not having plastic bags to reuse, for whatever purpose. I think having
plastic bags to reuse in fundraisers is nothing compared to harm plastci bags do to the environment and animals.
We got rid of six -pack rings and removable pop -tops, we can get rid of plastic bags.
One day God will ask us, "Have you been good stewards of My earth ?"
Be the change you want to see in the world.
