No. 223, <br /> reports as follows: <br /> Communication No. 223 from Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated May 24, 2011, requests <br /> confirmation of the appointment of Anne M. Lee to the County of Hawai`i Environmental <br /> Management Commission. She is affiliated with the Democratic Party. If confirmed she would <br /> replace Diana Miller, whose term expired on December 31, 2009 and serve a term to expire on <br /> December 31, 2014. <br /> Anne M. Lee, of Council District 6, is a 15 year resident of Hawai`i. She is presently self - <br /> employed as a Co- Producer /Director /Writer /Editor of DHDTV.NET (an Internet broadcast <br /> network). <br /> Anne M. Lee has a degree in Environmental Science and stated that e- waste, green -waste and <br /> other solid waste issues were major environmental problems that needed serious thought and <br /> innovation. Councilmember Onishi asked her what she thought of waste to energy facilities. <br /> Anne Lee replied that there were many types of those facilities and there exists excellent <br /> examples of them in the world. She added that review of any proposed facilities should include <br /> the macro, micro and cultural perspectives. <br /> The nominee is not required to be present at final confirmation before the full Council. <br /> EMC Rept.
