Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 89-11, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 89-11, transmitted by Director of Finance Nancy Crawford via
Communication No. 244, dated June 22, 2011, authorizes the acceptance of a monetary donation
of$5,000 from an anonymous source. The money will be used by the Department of Parks and
Recreation to support the Big Island Basketball Officiating Clinic by providing the funds to the
Big Island Basketball Officials Association for travel expenses of the trainers of the clinic. The
Big Island Basketball Officiating Clinic is co-sponsored by the County of Hawai`i, HI-PAL, and
the Big Island Basketball Officials Association.
Pursuant to Article XII, Section 13-12, Hawai`i County Charter the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of money.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 89-11,
and recommends its adoption.
