COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />x.12 11 <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION <br />OF PHYSICAL FITNESS EQUIPMENT FOR USE IN THE HAWAII <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING'S WEIGHT <br />ROOM <br />WHEREAS, an anonymous source is donating nine (9) pieces of physical fitness <br />equipment to the Hawai'i Police Department; and <br />WHEREAS, the equipment consists of two (2) flat benches, one (1) squat rack, <br />one (1) back extension bench, one (1) 4 -station all -in -one weight machine, one (1) <br />treadmill, one (1) elliptical machine, and two (2) bikes; and <br />WHEREAS, this equipment, with an estimated value of $5,800, will be used in the <br />Hawaii Police Department Public Safety Building's weight room; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that <br />the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or <br />other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, <br />Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts or donations <br />of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of <br />the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the Hawai'i County Police Department recommends the acceptance <br />of this donation; now, therefore, <br />
