STATE OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION
OF PHYSICAL FITNESS EQUIPMENT FOR USE IN THE HAWAII
POLICE DEPARTMENT PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING'S WEIGHT
ROOM
WHEREAS, an anonymous source is donating nine (9) pieces of physical fitness
equipment to the Hawai'i Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the equipment consists of two (2) flat benches, one (1) squat rack,
one (1) back extension bench, one (1) 4 -station all -in -one weight machine, one (1)
treadmill, one (1) elliptical machine, and two (2) bikes; and
WHEREAS, this equipment, with an estimated value of $5,800, will be used in the
Hawaii Police Department Public Safety Building's weight room; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that
the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or
other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2,
Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts or donations
of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of
the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai'i County Police Department recommends the acceptance
of this donation; now, therefore,
