Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 67, reports as follows:
Bill 67, transmitted jointly with Resolution 101-11, by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via
Communication No. 262, dated July 6, 2011, amends Ordinance No. 11-59, as amended, the
Operating Budget, ending June 30, 2012. The amendment is as follows:

The State of Hawai`i Department of Transportation has authorized a $ 24,000 Fire Extrication
Training to the County of Hawaii. These funds will be used to allow the Hawai`i Fire
Department to utilize nationally recognized trainers to instruct Fire Department personnel in the
most up to date techniques of vehicle extrication, and also enable the departments to implement a
"train the trainer" program.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, County Departments must obtain the consent
of the Council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting action to
be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds
or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those
powers.

There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 67, and
recommends it pass first reading.
