Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 102-11, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 102-11, transmitted by Director of Finance Nancy Crawford via
Communication No. 265, dated July 6, 2011, authorizes the acceptance of a monetary donation
of$1,000 from Nippon Club. These funds are being given to provide support to the County's
recovery efforts in West Hawai`i, from the March 11, 2011 tsunami.
The Nippon Club was established in 1973 to promote understanding between Japan and Hawaii
and to contribute towards business development opportunities with local partners in Hawai`i.
A letter of appreciation and copy of this resolution will be sent to: Nippon Club, 1580
Kapi`olani Blvd, Honolulu, HI 96814.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of money.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 102-11,
and recommends its adoption.
