Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 70, reports as follows:
Bill 70, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via Communication No. 265, dated
July 6, 2011, amends Ordinance No. 11-59, as amended, the Operating Budget, ending June 30,
2012. The amendment is as follows:

The County of Hawaii is accepting a monetary donation of$1,000 from the Nippon Club.
The Nippon Club was established in 1973 to promote understanding between Japan and Hawaii
and to contribute towards business development opportunities with local partners in Hawaii.
These funds are being given to provide support to the County's recovery efforts in West Hawaii,
from the March 11, 2011 tsunami.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of money.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 70, and
recommends it pass first reading.
