No. 272 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 10:30 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Comm. No. 272, reports as follows: <br /> Communication No. 272, from Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated June 27, 2011, requests <br /> confirmation of the appointment of Raylene Moses to the County of Hawai`i Windward Planning <br /> Commission. Communication No. 272, notes that Ms. Moses is a 44 year resident of Hawai`i. <br /> She was employed as a site manager at the Paxen Group from 2006—2011. Prior to that, she <br /> was employed as the office manager at Ka`u Electric, Inc. <br /> Ms. Moses' community service includes membership with 0 Ka`u Kakou, Bay Clinic, the <br /> Hawaiian Civic Club, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She states that she is <br /> not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, she will fill a term to expire on December <br /> 31, 2011, replacing Rell Woodward, who resigned. Since Ms. Moses will be serving a remaining <br /> term that is less than two years, she will be eligible to succeed herself for an additional full term <br /> of five years, beginning on the expiration date of her current term and expiring on <br /> December 31, 2016. <br /> Executive Assistant to the Mayor Charmaine Shigemura introduced the nominee Ms. Raylene <br /> Moses, who was present at the Hilo Council Chambers. <br /> Ms. Moses stated that she looks forward to serving to the best of her abilities. She has interest in <br /> the welfare of her own community and the welfare of the entire island community. <br /> Council Chairman Yagong confirmed the possibility of this being a five plus year commitment <br /> and noted that she will play a significant role as Ka`u is a fast growing district. <br /> Committee Chair Hoffmann, Council Member Smart and Council Member Yagong all supported <br /> this nomination and expressed their thanks to Ms. Moses for volunteering and her willingness to <br /> serve on this very important commission. <br /> PC Report No. 25 <br />
